About John Highland

At FoxFire, the dining room is more than a place to eat — it is part of the experience. The paintings featured throughout the restaurant are the work of John Highland, an artist whose oils and acrylics bring warmth, color, and a sense of memory to the space.

John's artistic style is best described as eclectic impressionism. His paintings are rooted in recognizable subjects, but they are not limited by strict realism. Instead, he paints the emotion of a scene: the glow of a skyline, the quiet of a landscape, the personality of an animal, or the feeling attached to a familiar place.

His work fits naturally inside FoxFire because it shares a similar philosophy with the restaurant itself. FoxFire is built around craft, hospitality, and character. John's paintings carry that same handmade quality — personal, expressive, and meant to be experienced slowly.
